Three states recently enacted changes in their efforts to champion Caregiving efforts. Whether through a tool intended to help families navigate resources available in their state or a tax credit for Caregivers, Illinois, Oklahoma and Nebraska have created positive changes to benefit those to care for others.

Illinois: Illinois authorized and funded the creation of the Illinois Caregiver Portal. The Portal will function as a one-stop shop for caregivers and for residents seeking care, providing a broad range of resources and information related to assisted care options, community-based services and more. Oklahoma: Beginning with the 2024 tax year, some family caregivers will qualify for financial help from the state through a new state tax credit aimed at helping offset the out-of-pocket costs that arise when caregiving. Click here to learn more.
